Most people go for their six-monthly dental checkup without giving it a second thought. But how many people regularly check their credit score? It makes sense that you’d much rather find a small cavity now than find you need root canal treatment in six months or a year’s time – right? Well, the same applies to your financial health. If you check your credit score every six months, you might find the beginnings of problems which can be nipped in the bud. Isn’t that better than waiting until it has developed into a major financial crisis?

Identity theft is an increasingly common problem these days, and your credit score can give an indication if you have fallen victim to this crime. Hopefully early enough for you to take action and do something about it.

You can request a free credit score once a year, and everbody should avail themselves of this. For a nominal fee you can check your credit score online – and it’s well worth doing this every six months or so to make sure you are on the right track.
