Bad Credit Loans
When your credit is good, banks and other lenders will fall over themselves to get you a personal loan. What do you do when your credit is bad, on live support, and you are at your wit’s end? Are bad credit loans still possible for you? If you do have an offer, should you accept it? Well, let’s talk about bad credit loans and what they mean to you in when you are in dire needs.
Don’t worry, bad credit loans stories are common. For instance, who would expect to find bad credit loans in Calgary. Well, newsflash, bad credit loans issues can occur anywhere.
The first thing you need to realize is that it doesn’t take much to recover your credit standing. It just requires that you pay your bills on time for about 6 months straight.
So, if you’re up to your shoulders in debt and want to clear up your credit as soon as possible, incrementally and in good faith, what can you do? ‘Credit fix’ or ‘credit repair’ does not accurately describe the job that needs to be done.
Here is a list of a few things that need to be done, top to bottom, to truly fix your credit:
1.Get a copy of your most recent credit report. Line by line, ascertain that each debt is yours, highlighting those which are not.
2.Contact each creditor falsely reporting a debt against you. Ask for proof (documentation) that the debt is yours. They must provide this within 30 days of receipt of your request. If they cannot, or fail to provide such proof, the debt must be removed from your credit report. That’s the law.
3.Let’s say that you have several late payments showing on your credit report. Talk to the creditor, explaining any extenuating circumstances that caused you to not make timely payments. Do this only when you’re back on track, with at least 3 months of timely payments under your belt. You may be able to have the creditor waive some late penalties, which helps, at $75 a pop!
